Environmental data
RMB’s ultimate goal and mission are the recovery of waste materials with minimum environmental impact.
Optimization of various treatment stages, ongoing revamping of existing facilities, as well as coordinated management of resources and staff involved, allow RMB to reduce energy and water consumption per ton of treated waste.
To date, tested concentrations have never exceeded permitted limits..
Recorded concentration values for the gaseous emissions of plant lines in active operation are always lower than legally required limits.
The analysis of outdoor air quality is conducted every six months, for periods of 15 consecutive days. Recorded results have always shown that concentrations of various substances are below the reference limits dictated by Ministerial Decree 60/2002 and Legislative Decree 152/07. The site, like all areas with similar topography and weather conditions typical of the Po Valley (a closed basin with little ventilation, especially in winter), is affected by the presence of PM10 in the atmosphere. The values recorded for this parameter are nonetheless below the limits dictated by Ministerial Decree 60/2002.
No significant differences were found in survey positions with reference to the direction of prevailing winds in the investigation period..
Groundwater surveys, taken regularly at two different points, have not been found to exceed concentration limits in the many years the company has been in business.
