COMPANY
We have been recovering new raw materials from waste since 1981, managing the complete cycle whilst fully respecting the environment.
Today we can rightfully claim to be one of the main multi-functional platforms in Europe for treating and recovering special hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
The Environmental Integrated Authorisation for 680,000 Tonnes was granted in 2022.

our history
Metal recycling represents RMB’s historic core business and so the company has acquired a number of hi-tech plants that can separate the different metallic fractions (ferrous and non-ferrous) contained inside incoming waste. Continue »
1981
R.M.B. opened for business in 1981 as a conventional scrap metal collector and trader, at the Via della Chiesa plant, in Polpenazze (province of Brescia).
1993
Regional permit for the storage, sorting and recovery of 10,000 t/year of special waste.
2000
Increase of plant potential to 30,000t/year. Meanwhile, R.M.B. S.p.A. obtained authorization to install and operate a plant with a potential of 20,000t/year for recovery of non-hazardous special waste in the new area of Via Montecanale, also in the municipality of Polpenazze del Garda.
2001
Lombardy Regional Authority issues authorization to increase capacity to 30,000 t/year. The new R.M.B. S.p.A. plant was then built in the Via Montecanale area. In 2001, R.M.B. S.p.A. operations were transferred entirely to the new premises, next to the existing FIM srl facility.
2003
In 2003, FIM S.r.l. was incorporated by merger with R.M.B. S.p.A., who acquired its permits. R.M.B. S.p.A. applied to Lombardy Regional Authority for environmental compatibility referred to an existing plant expansion project and the possibility of managing sites obtained from land reclamation, incineration slag from incineration of urban solid refuse and other inorganic-type waste for recovery, as well as waste with organic content like plastic and rubber.
2005
Brescia Province approves the expansion scheme presented with a capacity of 147,520 t/year.
2007
The Environmental Integrated Authorisation (Decree D.G. no. 5078/2007) is issued regarding the integrated prevention and reduction of pollution; at the same time authorisation is given for expansion of the site and an increase in the plant’s overall capacity to 187,520 t/year.
2008
The landscape permit allows development of the new portion of the site to the South.
2010
Authorization was received to design and implement waste treatment processes and systems, including set up and service trial.
2011
The R.M.B. S.p.A. plant was issued with a new integrated environmental authorization AIA Executive Act No. 3544 of 18.10.2011, by the Brescia Provincial Authority for IPPC activities covered by points 5.1 and 5.3 of Annex VIII to the second part of Legislative Decree 152/2006, and subsequent amendment and integrations for recovery (R13, R12, R3, R4, R5) and disposal (D8, D9, D13, D14, D15) operations, increasing overall plant capacity to 320.000 t/year.
2013
New mill for motor vehicles comes into service.
2014
New latest technology sorting and enrichment plant for the recovery and recycling of very fine elements.
2015
Extension of Integrated Authorisation for IPCC activities for recovery and disposal operations. Plant overall capacity 620,000 t/year.
2016
Our plant to manufacture products/aggregates (cement-based (concrete blocks, cement mixtures, loose unbound aggregates) enters into operation.
2022
The Environmental Integrated Authorisation for 680,000 Tonnes was granted in 2022.
Plant and Systems
1
Selection and Screening »
The plant is doubtless representative of RMB’s excellence. In fact, the sorting, selection, separation and recovery of ferrous and non-ferrous metals are the company’s main activities.
2
Crushing sections »
The crushing systems - i.e., compacting and separation - are an essential stage in the recovery of ferrous and non-ferrous scrape and the possible production of SRM.
3
Ash recovery »
Perfected over the years, this system, to recycle bottom ash processes hundreds of tonnes from waste-to-energy plants all over Italy every week.
4
Washing »
The washing system consists of a rotating barrel that serves to separate different materials according to their specific weight.
5
Flotation and Washing »
The flotation and washing plant serves to separate the different types of material (especially metals) according to their specific weight.
6
Bonded aggregates »
A system to make products/aggregates (concrete blocks, cement mixes, loose unbound aggregates) by which it is possible to reuse materials directly from its own internal processing lines and/or from third-party crushing systems has recently been installed.
Materials
As part of its waste management activities, RMB fully incorporates the spirit of European and national standards, aiming to boost a fall in waste production.
In fact, with due dedication and commitment, it carries out the “preparation” of waste for re-use and for all other possible recycling/recovery operation, guaranteeing the protection of the environment and the safety of operators.
