Organizational Carbon Footprint

Since 2022, RMB has calculated the Carbon Footprint for the Polpenazze site, achieving benefits in efficiency, competitiveness, and compliance. The analysis, carried out by the Politecnico di Milano, follows the ISO 14064-1:2019 standard and includes Scope 1 and 2 emissions.

Measuring to improve

RMB has launched a structured process to monitor the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions related to its operations, in line with the principles of the green economy and the ecological transition. The initiative focuses on the calendar years 2022, 2023 and 2024 at the production site located in Polpenazze del Garda (BS).

The calculation of its Corporate Carbon Footprint, carried out in accordance with the UNI EN ISO 14064-1:2019 standard, is a strategic tool for assessing, managing and reducing the environmental impact of the company. The analysis includes:

  • Direct emissions (Scope 1) related to production activities carried out directly by RMB

  • Indirect emissions (Scope 2) related to the consumption of purchased electricity and heat

The study was entrusted to the AWARE (Assessment on WAste and REsources) research group of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano.

Why does RMB calculate its Carbon Footprint?

Analysing emissions offers RMB tangible benefits:

  • Efficiency and savings
By identifying key sources of emissions, RMB can take action to reduce energy waste and lower operating costs.
  • Regulatory compliance
Monitoring emissions helps align with evolving environmental directives, preventing the risk of sanctions and facilitating relationships with the authorities.
  • Sustainable innovation
The carbon footprint approach encourages the development of low-impact environmental solutions, driving innovation and opening up opportunities in new markets.
  • Reputation
In an increasingly sustainability-minded environment, demonstrating commitment to reducing GHGs improves corporate reputation and strengthens the trust of customers and stakeholders.

Through this activity, RMB confirms its commitment to responsible resource management, transparency towards the territory, and the construction of an increasingly sustainable industrial model based on the circular economy and on minimising environmental impact.
